Every Little Thing Counts

Yesterday, I had science as the last class of the day. Everyone was itching to finally get home for the weekend and not very many people were paying attention. To get our attention, my science teacher usually claps in this pattern. clap-clap-clapclapclap. After everyone responded with the same clap pattern, the boy sitting next to me did the "We Will Rock You" style beat. Slowly, more and more people started following suit, and eventually, someone started singing the words. That made me think. Can one little thing, someone starting the beat, turn into a big thing, a whole class singing and beating together? It's like the snowball effect. And this is what the world needs. One person starting something cool, fun, or good, and slowly getting more and more people doing it as well.

Science Fair

Science Fair has been a big part of my homework recently. I am doing an experiment on which type of milk lasts the longest, and I'm tired of researching it and finding opinion after opinion on the topic and hardly any fact websites. If you know of any good fact websites that would help me learn about milk spoiling, it would be nice of you to share them with me. I don't need the websites, I have enough research done, but I wouldn't mind having the help.

Are you doing science fair? If so, what is your topic? Are you looking forward to it?

School is Taking Over My Life

Maybe you've been wondering where I've been. Maybe you haven't. In any case, I might be back again. I have so much stuff going on with school, I barely have time for other things. I'm still alive, I just don't use my lap top as much anymore. I would say Science Fair is slightly (extrememly) time consuming. I'll work on posting more. I just need some time.

Is school eating up your life? Do you have more time on your hands than you thought you would? Why don't you ever answer my questions?

Foster the People

I'm sure most people have heard the song "Pumped Up Kicks" by now. I bet most people even like it for its base line and its nearly unintelligible lyrics. I used to. I still like it, I just like it for a slightly different reason. Here are a few lines from the song.

Robert's got a quick hand. He's looking 'round the room, he won't tell you his plan. He's got a rolled cigarette, hanging out his mouth he's a cowboy kid. Yeah. He found a six shooter gun in his dad's closet with a box of fun things, I don't even know what. But he's coming for you, yeah, he's coming for you.

Interesting, right? Now go listen to this song with an open mind, paying close attention to the lyrics. Pretty eerie, right? I used to only like this song for it's really beast base line and catchy chorus. I looked at the lyrics written down, and suddenly I liked this song for having such a nice base line, a catchy chorus, and faking everyone out with the pop sound and really not very decent lyrics. I can't wait to hear more songs by Foster the People.

Do you like the song "Pumped Up Kicks"? Did you know about the interesting lyrics already? (I'm sure some people already knew them.) Are you glad you know the lyrics? Do you wish you didn't know the lyrics?

School is Really Here

Until recently, school just seemed like a place to be. Now, about a month into the school year, it seems like a place I need to work. I have started to get disorganized, so I know a few things I need to strive for, including excellence. I have started to get more work and homework, and I have started to need to do and remember more things. Remember to take music folder out of backpack for cello lesson. Remember to bring ukulele to school for guitar club. Remember to put homework in backpack. Remember to take all supplies necessary to class. Too much remembering, if you ask me.

With all this evidence and more, I can safely say school is really here. Are you feeling overwhelmed by school? Do you feel you need to do too much remembering? Do you wish I would stop putting questions at the end of my posts? Seriously, no one ever answers.

Birthday

Today is my birthday. I don't think birthdays are that big of a deal. It is only the day you have completed a full revolution around the sun. Revolution, right? I'm not sure... Anyway, I don't think it's that special. I like hearing people say Happy Birthday to me, though.

Do you enjoy having birthdays? Do you wish you had birthdays more often?
