Should We Celebrate the 3rd?

Here's a little history lesson. On July 4, 1776, Thomas Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence. According to the colonies, they were no longer under the rule of Britain. On September 3, 1783, the Treaty of Paris was signed and Britain recognized the United States as a separate country, not just colonies. Everyone celebrates the 4th of July, but I think the real day to celebrate is the 3rd of September because that is the day Britain finally broke down and freed the colonies. Thoughts?
